Hungarian writer Péter Esterházy has been selected as this year's winner of the Peace Prize of the Association of German Publishers and Booksellers.
The prize awarding ceremony will be held at the Frankfurt International Book Fair in the autumn. The Peace prize has been given to outstanding individuals from around the world since 1950.
Last year American author Susan Sontag received this prestigious award. Péter Esterházy will be the second Hungarian to get the prize: writer György Konrád was given the Peace Prize in 1991.
